9/10 but I'm happy to report that I wasn't tripped up by Mount Rushmore! :D

Can't believe I forgot about Eliezer accompanying, though! In any case, great quiz with really helpful articles. Thank you! Reply

In (most?) earlier quizzes there used to be a link for further information in regards to (almost?) every question, In the last quizzes that does not seem to be the case.
I did not remember that there were 2 people that went with Avi & Izzy to the Akeidah and now?

Shalom, Where can we discover the age of Isaac at the time he was offered ? Reply

in response to Brian Melmoth:

I was always told he was in his 30's. Has to do with the chapter before and after the binding record. Sarah was 127 when she passed away, and 90 at his birth, subtract you get 37. The covenant in chapter before, Abimelech- Abraham, Isaac is around 30ish.. I was not sure of correct answer exactly. I picked the only one in the 30's. I was told anywhere between 30 -37. The faith of Abraham to offer his son in obedience to G-d. But makes you think, Isaac believed G-d too. A healthy man in his 30's could have over powered an elderly father if he didn't believe G-d had spoken this. Reply

10/10. I hesitate to say this was an easy quiz, because this is such a complicated and intense story that has troubled people for centuries. That is why I got all the answers right--- because the parsha is so compelling and troubling, I can't help but remember it. Now, I'll go back and read some of the explanations for some if the answers!

in response to Rivka R Rachum:

It is definitely one of the most, if not THE most, troubling incident in the entire Torah. Some say, for example, that its message is that ultimately, since G-d invented everything, including the ideas of Right and Wrong, that He alone gets to decide such things, and therefore this was a test to see if Abraham would comply with G-d, as much as his own feelings practically screamed out otherwise. Another view says no, that just as G-d practically invited Abraham to challenge G-d in the incident of the imminent destruction of Sodom, that Abraham should have likewise challenged G-d when it came to sacrificing his own son, and that the fact that Abraham did not do that, means that Abraham really failed the test Reply

9 of 10 ... Not bad ... thanks Rabbi! Reply

Raymond West Hollywood September 9, 2026

I scored 9/10. Actually, the one I got wrong surprised me. I always thought that only Abraham's servant Eliezer accompanied Abraham and Isaac to Mount Moriah where the sacrifice of Isaac was due to take place, but apparently, Ishmael also came along. hmmm....then i am a little surprised that Ishmael did not invoke jihad or Allahu Akbar in the whole process Reply
