One explanation I have heard as to why the Torah begins with the letter Bet, is that its shape is closed off on three of its sides, with only the fourth side open, which points forward, as if to indicate to the viewer to not dwell on how the world got here, or what is Heaven above us like, or what Hell below us is like, but just focus on our future, on what is in front of us, for the truth is, that that is all we have any degree of control over Reply

Great quiz! #6 tripped me up because the wording had me answering it like it was just for the shin, not sin. I didn’t think shin had a dot, only sin, so I answered accordingly: no dot. Apparently the question was about sin specifically, so golly, that was a wash for me. I felt wronged, but I appreciated the humbling experience! The “wrong” answer saved me from getting 10/10 and that could have watered my ego, wherein I would have been right on paper, but wrong in spirit. (: Reply

I got 9 out of 10 correct. I didn't remember how many letters in the Hebrew alphabet.
